MSI Group are recruiting for a Placement Manager in the Ashford area working for an NHS Trust on both an contract basis.  

This post forms part of the integrated placements team which is an integrated team of nurse assessors, placements managers, health brokers and administrative staff that provides a single point of access for all placements referrals i.e.

  • - People with NHS Continuing healthcare needs
  • - People with mental health needs
  • - Children and young people
  • - People with neuro-rehabilitation needs
  • - People subject to Section 117
  • - Personal healthcare budgets

There are three Placement Managers in the team, each of whom lead the coordination of individual placements/packages of care management on behalf of CCGs for Children/ people with Mental Health problems,/ people with Neuro Rehabilitation needs or people needing placement through a Section 117.

The post holder will support the Deputy Director Continuing Healthcare & Placements (Kent)/Assistant Head of Placements in ensuring that individual placements are managed effectively and efficiently and take the lead the delivery of the service to customers:

The post holder will be assigned a key area of speciality (i.e. Children) but they will be expected to provide cover across a variety of placements as and when necessary. Key areas of responsibility are:

  • Provide placement management support to CCGs for individual’s needs that cannot be met through standard CCG and IFR commissioning arrangements. This includes jointly funded placements, and out of area placements and equipment
  • Placements Management does not include the clinical assessment and review of individual patient’s needs. It is primarily a coordination and assurance function to ensure that effective mechanisms are in place to ensure effective placements management. It may be necessary for the Neuro rehab

Skills & Qualifications:

  • NMC registered. Your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
  • A minimum of 6 months experience post graduation in a UK NHS hospital
  • 6 months NHS experience within the last 2 years
