MSI Recruitment is currently working with an excellent NHS Trust in the Leicestershire Area.

We are currently looking for a Band 8b Clinical Psychologist to work within the Community Mental Health team for a 6 month contract starting at the end of March 2020.

The Post-holder will provide a highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy service to the City Central Community Mental Health Team. This will entail work with patients falling with the remits of this service and its catchment areas. The post holder will offer advice and consultation on patient's psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues, and where appropriate deliver psychological interventions; working autonomously within professional guidelines and the Trust policies, procedures and service priorities.

The post holder will participate fully in multidisciplinary clinical teams, often leading them, in providing a service to their patients. The post holder will deploy knowledge and skills in general aspects of clinical psychology including the assessment and treatment of patients who are legally detained as mentally ill. The post-holder will be capable of conducting projects, working independently, with only general briefings and working directly to senior managers.

In order to be considered for this role you must have:

  • An honours degree in Psychology or with Psychology as the main subject.
  • Eligibilty for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Doctoral or equivalent qualification in Clinical Psychology.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Experience of working in a clinically orientated multi-disciplinary and multi-agency mental health setting.
  • Experience of highly specialist risk and psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings i.e. Impatient, residential and community.
